With blessings and guidance from our teacher, Khenpo Lama Migmar, and in honor of his Guru's lineage, we are pleased to offer Triyana, a three-part/ three year series based on the central teachings of the Buddhist tradition.

The Triyana training is an immersive program that will provide a comprehensive overview of the turnings of the wheel of dharma and the dharma of the Buddha. The course will focus on methods and practices that integrate the Buddha's teachings to awaken an enduring spiritual life of harmony, peace and purpose.

The First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma

In this first year of the Triyana training, we will explore the Buddha’s first turning of the wheel of Dharma, focusing on the Four Noble Truths, the 16 Aspects, and the Eightfold Path. This comprehensive program is designed to support the development of a sustainable and meaningful personal practice rooted in meditation, mindfulness, and healthy habits, guiding you toward enduring happiness throughout your life.

The training includes bi-annual retreats where you will receive in-depth teachings with commentary and discourse from Kevan Gale. These retreats offer valuable insight into the foundational teachings of the Buddha and serve as inspiration throughout the year.

Each Sunday, you’ll receive an email with engaging content to support your weekly practice—such as a reading, video teaching, or reflection questions to contemplate and discuss with your sangha. This regular exposure to the Three Jewels—the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha—will help cultivate a deep familiarity and comfort with the material over the course of the year.

Retreats are held in Wilmington, Vermont:

  • Retreat 1: January 21–25, 2026 – Introduction to Triyana and the Four Noble Truths
  • Retreat 2: July 23–26, 2026 – The Eightfold Path

Throughout the year, you will work to deepen your personal meditation practice and learn to guide others in the techniques you are studying and embodying. The course will culminate in November 2026.

The second and third turnings of the wheel of Dharma will be explored in Years 2 and 3, following a similar format and deepening your understanding and practice in subsequent stages of the path.

"Year 1 of Triyana study has been so valuable to my practice. [The instructors] are amazing guides to the dharma and are able to help me understand the principles and practices that have helped me build a stronger spiritual practice that has benefitted both myself and everyone around me. One of the best parts of the program is to be able to follow this path along side the most loving and kind sangha. My Triyana friends are always there for me offering support, encouragement, and so much insight and wisdom generated from their own practices. Looking forward to the remaining two years of study."
